A glowing meteor posessing vast amounts of power is sent hurtling through space hitting Earth. Part of the space rock's energy lands on Susan, a woman who is about to get married. She grows to be 49 ft 11 in tall and is labeled a Monster. She's then imprisoned with an impressive array of other Monsters.

When the evil galactic overlord Gallaxhar arrives to retrieve the source of the meteor's energy and conquer the earthlings, the Monsters are then brought in to defeat the Aliens and form a monstrous bond between one another in DreamWorks first 3D animated film ...
